'Between Versions' | Original drawing
Original drawing by portrait artist, Annalena Ouwens.
A woman with closed eyes and flowers blending in with a dark horse silhouette
About the artwork:
You’re not lost. You’re standing in the space between who you were and who you’re becoming.
Letting go of what once felt familiar, while slowly learning to trust what lies ahead. This in-between may feel uncertain, but it holds something quietly powerful. It’s where purpose begins to take shape, and where resilience is gently formed. Keep moving as you walk through the dark toward the light. You’re not lost. You’re becoming.
The soft shapes and tonal changes reflect the gentle inner transformation taking place. The absence of rough edges and sharp lines points toward the fact that transformation rarely happens abruptly - it is rather a flowing, even blurry process. Inspired by life’s twists and turns, this artwork is brought forward by deep introspection and reflection on my personal journey.
