From quiet villages to quiet art
I grew up in a small German village, where afternoons were spent in fields and barns, surrounded by animals and the gentle rhythms of nature. Animals were my friends and teachers, and I dreamed of becoming a vet—the only profession with animals I knew about at the time.
Drawing was always my secret language. As a child, I sketched cartoon characters like Snoopy and Sailor Moon; as a teenager, the faces that stirred my heart. I didn't realise back then that drawing was my way to process emotions.
Life took me from Germany to Spain. I met my Dutch husband and became a mother. Each time I lost touch with art, I found my way back—especially in moments of change. Sketching became my anchor, a way to reconnect with myself when life felt overwhelming or new roles blurred my sense of self.

Through gentle, monochrome portraits that merge human and animal forms, I explore themes of empathy, transformation, and inner strength.
I'm drawn to black and white for its calm, emotional depth, a visual language that invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and feel. My subjects—women, cats, horses, and other animals—mirror my own quiet nature and fascination with the bonds we share across species.
Art has always been my way of processing change and rediscovering myself, especially during life’s transitions. My work offers a moment of calm, a gentle place for others to reconnect with themselves, honor their own quiet strength, and find beauty in empathy.
Now living in Catalonia with my family and a small group of rescued animals, I continue to let intuition and compassion guide my creative path. My art is both a tribute to the animals and people who have shaped me, and an invitation to anyone seeking solace, authenticity, and meaning.
